Hi, I’m Evan Jelley, a dedicated music educator with over five years of teaching experience. I specialize in advanced piano (classical, jazz, and contemporary), intermediate guitar, voice, and songwriting. My teaching approach is structured and disciplined, focusing on helping students discover what they’re truly capable of while fostering a lifelong passion for music.
I’ve been playing piano since I was five years old, and music has been a central part of my life ever since. Over the years, I’ve written and produced multiple EPs and continue to perform locally, sharing my music with the community. My background as both a performer and a teacher allows me to balance technical instruction with creative expression, helping students grow in both skill and artistry.
I initially began teaching as a way to make a bit of extra money when I was a gigging musician and working in banking. I found helping music learners quite rewarding and quickly acquired a full roster of students. I have taught piano, guitar, and voice for over 6 years mostly at music schools here in Colorado. I was often one of the most popular instructors at these schools.
At the beginning of this year, 2025, I decided to leave music schools to lay the groundwork to start my own teaching studio. That has involved taken on private students and teaching class at Highlands Ranch Community Center and Parker Arts Center using a group education curriculum which I developed called Piano Pals. Between my classes and private students I maintain a roster of around 50 students. Most of my private students have been with me for 2-3 years. You can check out my website for some testimonials from current students’ parents!
Beyond my music background, I graduated from Miami University (OH) with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in History. Outside of teaching, I’m a proud husband to my wife, Megan, and a dad to our two-year-old daughter, Rosalie. When I’m not in the studio or performing, I love hiking in the mountains with my family, exploring local bookstores, and taking my daughter to the park.
I’m passionate about guiding students of all levels toward personal growth through music. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I’d love to help you on your musical journey.
